Meet Sparky

As most people know about me I am a HUGE dog lover. About two weeks before I left for school, we had to put our family dog down due to cancer. The following week, my parents were moving into a rent house as they began the process of building a new house. So getting a new puppy wasn't really an option, not that any of us were quite ready to move on and get a new dog yet anyways. As time went on, I of course missed having a furry friend. It was not an option to have a dog in the dorms (according to my roommates ;)) and my parents swore to me that they would not consider having a pet in the rent house. Do you think that stopped me? Not at all. For about 6 months or so my poor parents would receive emails with pictures of puppies for sale or at rescue shelters, but I never had any luck. Time passed on and after the semester was over I moved home. The first weekend I was home my sister happened to be on a camping trip. So it was just my parents and me at dinner Friday night. During dinner I pulled up a picture of a puppy I saw on a rescue site earlier that week. I started the conversation with "So I saw this do-" and my mother blurted out a big fat "NO". Thanks mom. Before I could even finish saying but mom she had already started her lecture about how we can't have a rent house blah blah blah. She finished her "speech" with a "and besides Katie, your father and I have already discussed it, We decided our next dog is going to be a blonde retriever." After she said those words I said PERFECT! and showed her this picture!

I really wish I would have taken a picture of my mother's face. Needless to say, game over.

KATIE- 1
PARENTS AGAINST DOGS UNTIL WE MOVE INTO THE NEW HOUSE- 0

I mean, really? Let's be honest here, who could deny the adorable ball of fur. So after a bunch of awing and "he's so cute" my mom and I convinced my dad to go see him the next day. We got into contact with the lady who was fostering Sparky and picked him up Saturday afternoon to take him to our house and play with him and see how we liked him. There was no liking this dog, it was full on puppy love as soon as we met him. (and I mean come on... who takes a dog to their house to preview him then takes him back. Especially a dog that looks like that) I was on cloud nine. Since that day, Sparky has brought us nothing but love and happiness.

Now Sparky is 5 months old and weighing in at 30lbs...... and still growing.

Sparky is half Golden Retriever, half German Shepard. We rescued Sparky from Pup Squad Cypress. Highly recommend them if you are looking for a pet! Thank you Pup Squad for helping us make an addition to our family! :)

Two is Better than One

My sweet twin best friends and I went out for a cute photo session to take some pics for their Mom's upcoming birthday! These girls are beautiful and I am so blessed to have them in my life!

My "Baby" Sister

My sweet little sister starts high school next month. Where has the time gone? She has grown into such an amazing young woman of Christ. I couldn't be more proud of her and all of her accomplishments. Here are a few pictures showing off her beauty.
